About White River Sound Chorus

Welcome to the wonderful world of White River Sound Chorus!  We're an exciting women's barbershop chorus dedicated to achieving the highest level of musical performance through education, competition, community involvement and friendship.  Rehearsals are scheduled  every Tuesday where we practice, socialze, perform and have fun.  Currently, our chorus membership consists of over 50 singers, who come from all over the greater Indianpolis area.  We're proud that our members are as varied in their careers as they are in age!

Performance

From our annual chapter show and competition, to performing at community events, we love to sing!  We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us section.

Education

In addition to sharing our music with others, another one of our great passions is learning more about the art of a capella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular feature of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. Several times  times a year, we hire experienced vocal coaches to work with us as we  perfect our craft.

CompetitionIn the spring of every year, White River Sound Chorus participates in the Region 4 chorus competition in Covington, Kentucky. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. Quartets

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. White River Sound Chorus currently is home to a number of wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them! Click here to see our quartet section to learn more about them.

 

Affiliation

White River Sound Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International, a non-profit organization of approximately 30,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
